The young Horns found out that I like to write
So the old Longhorn gets blog post duty tonight
I would have stayed quiet if I had been wiser
But this way you hear from their lowly advisor
It’s a structural term so raise no objection
The focus this day was on PSD erection
We wanted to get the frame standing tall
The wind on just part of it might make it fall
So after an omelet of ham and cheese
They started to build with the greatest of ease
The group made great progress before we ate lunch
They worked not as two teams but all as one bunch
Hannah and Gaby and Hannah and Ryan
Archik and Petri and Minerva all tryin’
To work as fast and as smart as they could
To get the job done and to get it done good
Sarahi and Richard joined in with the group
The walls were all standing before we had soup
It was right back to work when our lunch was done
With a grueling taste of the Oaxacan sun
We all would agree that the heat was a pain
Till the clouds moved in and it started to rain
We secured the structure in the midst of a shower
That cooled and gave us a new sense of power
The rain let up and the build carried on
A lesser team would have been long gone
They got the frame built before ending the day
It was lots of hard work with no time for play
But in spite of the challenges the rain and the trials
The work was all done with great spirit and smiles
It has to be said and it should be said loud
Each of these Longhorns is making me proud
Peace, love, longhorns
